Residential Design Services & Installation Using 3-Dimensional, Machine-Cut Limestone & Ashwood Decking
One private residential project stands out as truly exceptional. This custom rooftop deck, designed for a private client in Austin, Texas, pushed the boundaries of craftsmanship and innovation. Featuring precision-cut limestone pavers using modern stereotomy techniques, Ashwood decking, and a Buzon pedestal system, this project was a true testament to our expertise in creating bespoke outdoor spaces that blend beauty and functionality. Design: Conceptualized by Pearson Design Studio, with Brian Pearson leading the design vision, and technical design support from Eagle Roof Decks.
Construction: Executed by JTA Stoneworks, specializing in modern stonecraft techniques.
Project Highlights:
Stone Selection: Utilized "charcoal" Lueders limestone, a Texas-quarried stone known for its durability and aesthetic appeal.
Wood Decking: Incorporated thermo-treated Ashwood, supplied by US Lumber Brokers in Austin, Texas, offering enhanced resistance to environmental factors.
Pedestal System: Employed Buzon BC-series pedestals from Belgium, renowned for their adjustability and load-bearing capacity.
Stone Building Technique: Implemented modern stereotomy, combining traditional stone-cutting principles with advanced technology, resulting in precise and intricate designs.
Installation: Utilized specialized lifting technologies, including cranes, telehandlers, and vacuum lifters from MQUIP and WPG, to handle heavy stone elements safely and efficiently. 3-dimensional limestone pieces on pedestals were also added for a spiral stair feature.
